Special Statement

Statement as of 8:07 AM AKDT on August 30, 2015

... Periods of gusty northerly winds expected over southcentral
Alaska the next few days...

Gusty north to northwest winds developing over most of southcentral
Alaska will diminish this evening but redevelop on Monday. These
winds will increase the risk of branches breaking off trees and
even some trees blowing over.

Use caution around campfires as gusty winds can cause fires to
spread rapidly.

In addition the relic ash from the 1912 eruption of katmai
Volcano will resuspend and impact Shelikof Strait and Kodiak
Island as it did a few days ago.
